Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, led the team to a 13th place finish in the Premier League last season. Despite interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, Silva has rejected the chance to make the move.
It is reported that Silva recently held talks with officials from Al-Ittihad, a club owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund, which also owns Newcastle United. However, former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is now seen as the frontrunner for the position after Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo was sacked.
Fulham have been confident in their ability to retain Silva as their manager. Despite interest from Al-Ittihad and a similar approach from Al-Ahli last summer, Fulham have been able to keep their manager happy at the club.
