Second Regional CEO Pitch Showcases Young Entrepreneurs’ Business Ideas

The Regional CEO Pitch, now in its second year, showcased young entrepreneurs from the multi-county CEO program in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. This event highlighted high school students from McDonough, Hancock, Pike, Brown, and Schuyler counties who presented their business ideas to three judges. The program aims to instill responsibility and dedication in young adults, emphasizing the importance of maturity.

The participants of the CEO program were passionate about the seriousness of their endeavors. Maycie McCombs, creator of Maycie’s Meals, stressed that the program was not for those looking for fun. Instead, it was a valuable opportunity for students like Karly Gallaher to develop their communication and life skills through their senior home health care service “Karly’s Kare.”

Justice Keene won first place with his local broadcast “Bomber Sports Network,” while Karly Gallaher came in second place with her senior home health care service “Karly’s Kare.” Wesley McEwen took third place with his 3D printing service “Dream 3D.” These young entrepreneurs will also have the chance to showcase their businesses at a trade show on April 12 at Crossing Camp in Rushville, Illinois. This event is open to the public and will provide these promising entrepreneurs with an opportunity to further develop their businesses and connect with potential customers and investors.
