Meet the Science Heroes at the Cuba Library on July 10th

The Cuba Circulating Library is hosting a Wild Mushroom Hike at Bush Hill State Forest on July 13. The event includes a guided foray and mushroom identification hike led by NYSOGA licensed hiking guides. Participants will learn about mushroom anatomy, habitat, and species identification during the 1-2 hour hike.

In addition to the Wild Mushroom Hike, the library is also hosting interactive STEM workshops for all ages. The Adventure of the Lost Treasure will take place on July 10 at 1:00 pm, where audience members can participate in science experiments that bring the story to life. Teens ages 12-18 are invited to a workshop at 3:00 pm to try out cool experiments using leaf blowers, confetti cannons, liquid foam, nail polish remover, and more.

The Wild Mushroom Hike and STEM workshops offer exciting learning opportunities for participants of all ages. Registration is required for the teen workshop, but the 1:00 program is open to all ages without registration. Both programs are funded by a grant from United Way of Cattaraugus and Allegany County. Don’t miss out on these fun and educational events taking place at the Cuba Circulating Library!
