In 2016, Michael Barton from Houston attempted axe throwing for the first time and it did not go well. But now, after five years of dedicated practice and improvement, he is heading back to the World Axe Throwing Championships alongside his Hurling Hatchets teammates, Jorge Sanchez and Chris Kendig.
Barton has set his sights on winning in both the Hatchets and Knives categories. With hard work and dedication under his belt, he is confident that he will succeed. When asked about the secret to accurate axe throwing, Kendig emphasized the importance of hard work, practice, and mastering different techniques. Barton agreed that while physical skill is important, it is ultimately the mindset of a successful axe thrower that truly sets them apart. He believes that staying calm and focused is key to excelling in this sport.
