From Cotton Factory Tycoon to Champion of Pregnant Women: Wu Bing’s Journey from Turmoil to Transformation

Wu Bing was once a successful businessman with a thriving cotton factory in Nantong, China. However, his personal life was in turmoil, leading him to seek solace in a Buddhist temple in the same city. Following his divorce, Wu decided to become a monk and sold his factory, embarking on a new journey at a remote temple in Fujian province.

However, the peace he sought in the temple was disrupted when he encountered pregnant women facing difficult circumstances. Many of these women were abandoned by their partners and lacked financial support. Despite initially being unprepared for this reality, Wu made the brave decision to help these women by providing them with shelter, prenatal care, and support throughout their pregnancies. The temple soon became a haven for many pregnant women and newborns.

Word about Wu’s shelter spread quickly, attracting more women seeking his help. The temple’s abbot asked him to relocate to a larger location to accommodate the growing number of women in need. Wu moved to a villa in Zhejiang province and established the Protective Dwelling. With the help of social media and donations, he was able to expand his reach and provide even more support for vulnerable pregnant women.

Through his online presence and charitable efforts, Wu has helped over 600 single women facing pregnancy without support. His story has inspired others to volunteer and offer assistance, earning him recognition in the Chinese media as an advocate for those in need. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, Wu remains dedicated to helping those who are most vulnerable and providing them with a safe haven during one of the most challenging times of their lives.
