On this day, exactly 60 years ago, American President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The story of that family is filled with hard-to-explain tragedies. Jack’s sister Rosemary was left completely immobile much earlier, after a terrible and inhumane lobotomy, two years older Kathleen died when her plane crashed in the French Alps, older brother Joe died in a war plane, their brother Robert was killed in 1968 while campaigning for the presidential election. In the years that will follow, their children will also die. It is a sad tale of loss and tragedy that has haunted the Kennedy family for generations. You can read more about it in our special feature that comes out with the printed edition on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
