52-Year-Old ‘Real World’ Star

Sarah Becker, a former reality TV star who appeared in Season 5 of MTV’s “The Real World,” has passed away at the age of 52. An MTV spokesperson confirmed the news and expressed their condolences to Becker’s family and friends during this difficult time.

According to reports from Becker’s family, she died by suicide at her home in Illinois last week. She had recently relocated to the area to care for her family and had plans to return to California in the future. Becker was said to be struggling with her mental health and was also recovering from a skateboarding accident.

Becker joined the cast of “The Real World” in 1996 for its fifth season, which was set in Miami, Florida. At the time, she was working as an editor at Wildstorm Comics in La Jolla, California. In a promotional video for the show, Becker described herself as “a 19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body.”

During her time on the show, Becker lived with roommates Joe Patane, Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Mike Lambert, Cynthia Roberts, and Flora Alekseyeva. Alekseyeva shared her sorrow over Becker’s death on Instagram, praising her kindness and selflessness. Renzi, another former roommate, expressed his sadness at Becker’s passing and reminisced about the bond they shared during their time on the show.
