Forest Loses Beloved Former Player: Nottingham Forest pays tribute to Jeff Whitefoot’s remarkable career

Nottingham Forest has lost one of its most cherished former players, Jeff Whitefoot, at the age of 90. Whitefoot had a remarkable career with the Reds, making over 250 appearances between 1958 and 1967. He was a crucial member of the team that won the FA Cup in 1959 and remains a beloved figure in Forest folklore.

Whitefoot began his career with Manchester United and made history as the youngest player to start in a league match for the club at just 16 years and 105 days old. After spending eight years with the ‘Busby Babes,’ he moved on to Grimsby Town before signing with Nottingham Forest in 1966. During his time at Forest, he played under the management of Billy Walker, Andy Beattie, and Johnny Carey.

One of Whitefoot’s greatest achievements with Forest was winning the FA Cup in his debut season, defeating Luton Town at Wembley. The club expressed deep sadness at the news of his passing and sent their condolences to Whitefoot’s family, friends, and all those who knew him. Jeff Whitefoot will be remembered for his contributions to Nottingham Forest and the legacy he leaves behind in the football world.
