Exploring the Wonders of Science: HUSD Students and Families Gather for Annual Inland Empire Science Festival at Western Science Center

Welcome to the Western Science Center in Hemet, where science enthusiasts gathered for the annual Inland Empire Science Festival on April 20. Leya Collins, the WSC Museum Laboratory Manager, was there to greet visitors with a non-venomous Reticulated Python named “Charlotte.”

The festival was a huge hit with attendees, including Hemet Unified School District students and their families. They were able to explore the WSC Museum, which is home to fossils of prehistoric animals and their histories at 2345 Searl Parkway.

Leya Collins and event coordinator Brett Dooley welcomed visitors to the festival. Collins, with “Charlotte” draped around her neck and shoulders, explained the purpose of the event as bringing science to the Inland Empire and showcasing its importance to the community. The free admission offered to HUSD students and families made it even more special for them.

The Inland Empire Science Festival is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to learn about science in an interactive and engaging way. With exhibits, demonstrations, and presentations from local scientists and educators, it’s clear that this event has something for everyone.
