Workshop on the Influence of Technology on Child Development and Mental Health to Be Hosted by Leading Experts

On April 4th and 5th, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) will host a workshop to explore the impact of technology and digital media on the development and mental well-being of children and adolescents. The first day will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the second day will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Leading discussions at this workshop will be experts in technology, child development, and mental health, who will examine both the positive and negative effects that technology can have on young minds. Attendees will have access to current research findings and an opportunity to discuss future directions in this field.

Sponsored by NIMH’s Division of Translational Research and NICHD, this workshop is open to both members of the scientific community and the general public alike, with registration required to participate in this free event. As WGRT reporter Choze Powell reports, this unique opportunity for dialogue promises to shed light on important issues related to technology use among young people today.
