CinemaCon Reveals First Glimpse of ‘Brave New World’

Marvel Studios and Disney+ fans will have to wait until San Diego Comic Con to see the first footage of Captain America: Brave New World, set for release in 2025. But during Disney’s closing CinemaCon session, exhibitors got an early sneak peek at the film. The movie picks up after the events of the 2021 Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where Sam Wilson takes over the shield left behind by Steve Rogers.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige described the film as a “grounded political thriller” during his presentation at Caesars Palace at the Colosseum. Anthony Mackie, who stars as Sam Wilson, also shared his excitement about being a part of his own Marvel movie after starting in the franchise 10 years ago. Mackie then introduced an exclusive clip from the movie to exhibitors.

The clip showed Harrison Ford’s POTUS character wanting Sam Wilson to rebuild the Avengers and being impressed by Wilson’s actions in Mexico. However, Wilson is cautious about potential disagreements over how to manage the new team. The scene then shifts to Ford making a presentation to a room full of authorities, where two individuals become possessed and turn on the crowd, including Ford’s character. A fight reminiscent of Air Force One ensues as Ford’s character punches a military man in the face.

Directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman, Dallan Musson, and Matthew Orton, Captain America: Brave New World is set for release on February 14th, 2025.
