Empowering Women: How the Ohio Valley Business and Professional Women’s Club Supports Education with its Wine and Shoe Extravaganza

The Ohio Valley Business and Professional Women’s Club held its annual Wine and Shoe Extravaganza at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, Jefferson County. This event is a fundraiser for local scholarships, with three scholarships awarded each year to support the cost of education. The scholarships are available to Ohio Valley seniors pursuing education at a college or trade school, as well as to women returning to school after leaving the workforce.

The organization is committed to helping these women achieve their educational goals by providing financial assistance. Amelia Taggart, a member of OVBPW, explained that the scholarships aim to support women who may have taken a break from education or have decided to pursue a new career path.

Attendees at the event had the opportunity to vote for their favorite shoes, celebrity servers, and Woman of the Year. The 2024 Woman of the Year was Judge Michelle Miller, who expressed her gratitude for being nominated by a women’s organization. She acknowledged the honor of being recognized among such successful and inspiring women. The event celebrated the accomplishments of women in the community and raised funds to support the educational aspirations of local students and professionals.

The event also featured vendors selling wine and various food items, giving attendees an opportunity to sample different wines while indulging in delicious treats.

Overall, the Wine and Shoe Extravaganza was a success, with many people attending and supporting the cause. It was great to see so many women coming together for such a worthy cause while having fun and celebrating each other’s achievements.

The Ohio Valley Business and Professional Women’s Club has been making a difference in their community for years now by providing financial assistance through scholarships to those who need it most. With events like this one raising funds for local students and professionals, it’s clear that their impact will continue for years to come.

In conclusion, it is great to see organizations like OVBPW taking steps towards empowering women in their community through financial assistance and recognition of achievements. Events like this one not only raise funds but also bring people together for a good cause while creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
