Turkey refuses refueling: Emergency prompts El Al to make emergency landing in Antalya

A jet owned by the Israeli airline El Al was forced to make an emergency landing in Antalya, Turkey due to a medical incident involving a passenger. This decision was made after consulting with a doctor on board who determined that the passenger needed urgent medical attention in a hospital.

Unfortunately, the Turkish authorities refused to refuel the aircraft, likely due to their strained relations with Israel. As a result, El Al was considering flying to and landing at an airport in another country. However, ultimately, El Al flight LY5102 was diverted to Rhodes, Greece. This left passengers on board stranded and the medical emergency unresolved.

Prior to the conflict, Turkish Airlines was a popular foreign carrier in Israel. However, just three days after the war broke out, it ceased operations in the country. The strained relations between Turkey and Israel have had a significant impact on air travel between the two countries.
