The EU should assist Eastern Finland, as per logical reasoning

The deteriorating situation of Finland’s public finances is having a significant impact on Eastern Finland, which is facing challenges in the wake of the Russian war of aggression. However, companies in the region are driven by a strong desire and faith in their abilities. In response to these challenges, the Finnish Confederation of Business and Industry (EK) has put forward recommendations to stimulate economic growth and vitality in Eastern Finland.

Chairman Harry Broman emphasizes the need for public authorities to play a central role in supporting the region, suggesting that Eastern Finland be designated as a special economic zone. This zone aims to promote business activities and accelerate economic growth in the region, contributing to the overall GDP of the country.

The implementation of this special economic zone will require collaboration with neighboring countries and EU support to strengthen Russia’s neighboring countries’ positions. Investments in energy, green transition, improved air connections, tourism, broadband infrastructure, and support for company growth are all part of the proposed plan.

Given the challenges facing Eastern Finland, including economic and security concerns, it is essential to take realistic steps to support its growth and development. The plan for a special economic zone aims to address these challenges and pave the way for sustainable growth and prosperity. Collaboration with public authorities, neighboring countries, and EU support will be crucial in achieving these goals.
