Dunkirk City Schools are the second-largest district in Chautauqua County, with nearly 2,000 students enrolled. In the past year, the administration has made it a priority to engage more with the community and build relationships with family members, caregivers, and city residents. The next step in this effort is the formation of an advisory team. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Community College north county campus location. Everyone is welcome to attend and there will be a light dinner served. According to Jennifer Westerholt, the district communications director, this meeting is not seen as supplemental work but rather as critical work that needs to be integrated into everything the district is doing. The focus is on partnering with families and community members to support student growth and learning and strengthening relationships in Dunkirk City Schools.
