DSC’s Automotive Service Technology Program Earns ASE Re-Accreditation: Providing Top-Quality Education for Industry Success

The Automotive Service Technology program at Daytona State College has recently received re-accreditation from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation. This accreditation is a reflection of the high quality education and training provided by DSC to its students in order to prepare them for a successful career in the automotive industry. ASE accreditation is considered the gold standard in the field of automotive service, ensuring that students receive the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession.

The program at Daytona State College is certified at the highest level, MASTER, by ASE. Graduates from an ASE-accredited program are seen as having similar training and qualifications as graduates from any other accredited institution in the country. Professional certification is highly valued in the industry and can lead to better job opportunities and higher salaries. For more information on professional licensure, students can visit https://www.aseeducationfoundation.org.

Designed to prepare students for success in the rapidly evolving and technically demanding automotive industry, the Automotive Service Technology program at DSC covers a wide range of topics and skills required for passing the ASE tests A1 through A8. With a total of 1,800 hours of coursework, the program can be completed in two years. Courses are offered during the day and evening at the Advanced Technology College, allowing students to choose a schedule that fits their needs.

Casey Knecht, Assistant Chair of the Automotive Service Technology program, emphasizes that ASE certifications are crucial for success in today’s competitive job market. With these credentials under their belt, students are more likely to be sought after by employers and can command higher salaries than those without certification
