Dixon, world champion, set to compete against fellow Briton Harper

Terri Harper, a former super-featherweight champion and current WBA light-middleweight champion from Doncaster, will challenge lightweight world champion Rhiannon Dixon for the WBO belt at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on Saturday, August 24th. Harper, who has a record of 14 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, is looking to become a three-weight champion in this upcoming fight.

Dixon, who is unbeaten in 10 professional fights and won the title from Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in April, will be making her first title defense. Harper expressed her respect for Dixon and acknowledged her opponent’s humility and lack of ego. She will be dropping down to the lightweight division for this fight and is focused on getting a solid win to get back on top.

The event at Co-op Live will mark the first boxing event at the newly built arena, which has a capacity of 23,500. The headline fight will feature Chorley light-welterweight Jack Catterall taking on American Regis Prograis. The card promises to be an exciting night of boxing for fans at the state-of-the-art venue in Manchester.
