Muncy’s senior pitcher Nolah Moyer and catcher Taylor Shannon led their team to a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail in the Mid-Penn championship game. The two players had big days at the plate, with Moyer hitting a two-run home run and two singles, while Shannon hit a three-run home run and drove in five runs. Muncy finished undefeated for the second straight year.
Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun broke up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit, but that was not enough to stop Muncy from cruising to victory. Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in five innings.
Moyer picked up the win on the mound for Muncy, while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail. Despite their defeat, Bucktail will continue to prepare for their upcoming games, looking to regroup and improve on their performance against Muncy.
