DNO Unlocked: Harnessing Diagnostic Network Optimization to Combat Global Health Threats

The 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva is set to bring experts from around the world together to address the challenges that continue to hinder access to diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries. These challenges include fragmented supply chains and market barriers, which make it difficult for individuals in these areas to receive accurate and rapid diagnostic tests. With threats like HIV, tuberculosis, and antimicrobial resistance continuing to persist, it is essential that these diagnostic tests are available and effective.

One way that countries have attempted to address these challenges is through diagnostic network optimization (DNO) processes. These processes aim to identify gaps and inefficiencies within healthcare delivery systems. However, much of the data collected during DNO processes is not fully utilized, which limits the effectiveness of improving healthcare systems and combating diseases.

On May 30th, Foreign Policy and Cepheid will host an event focused on unlocking insights from DNO processes in order to enhance pathogen detection, strengthen global health systems, achieve universal health coverage, and combat antimicrobial resistance.
