The interactive art installation on the fourth floor of Water Tower Place in Chicago is a new exhibit that explores mental health and emotions. Janine Williams, the creator of the exhibit, drew inspiration from her personal journey to create the 5,000-square-foot space that aims to provoke introspection and leave attendees transformed by their experience.
Upon entering the exhibit, guests are greeted with a disco ball dreamland featuring a 360-degree photo booth, setting the tone for the emotional journey they are about to embark on. The interactive Mood Room is at the heart of the exhibit, where visitors are guided through exercises meant to prompt reflection and emotional processing. Carefully curated colors throughout the space aim to influence and amplify emotional experiences.
Williams, who struggled with depression, wanted to create a safe and colorful space for individuals like herself to tap into their emotions in a fun way. The exhibit also features a Secret Garden for visitors to discover and Kites Ice Diner, showcasing the works of artist Kristopher Kites from Chicago’s South Side.
