Crisis Averted: Cary Police and Emergency Workers Respond to Mental Health Emergency

On Tuesday night, police and emergency workers in Cary were called to a neighborhood where a mental health crisis was unfolding. A person in distress was located at a home on Overcup Oak Lane and required urgent treatment. The Cary Police Department reported that the individual had confined themselves to the house and posed no threat to the community.

Authorities are working to safely remove the individual from the home to receive the necessary care. As the situation unfolds, people are being advised to avoid the area for their safety. It is important to prioritize the well-being of the individual in crisis and provide them with the support and assistance they need.

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis, there are resources available to help. You can call or text 988 or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255. Veterans can press “1” after dialing 988 to connect directly to the Veterans Crisis Lifeline. For texting support, veterans should continue to use the Veterans Crisis Lifeline short code: 838255.

In times of crisis, it is crucial to reach out for help and support. By utilizing these resources, individuals can receive the assistance they need to navigate difficult situations and find pathways to healing and recovery. Stay safe and take care of your mental health.
