Bezerk Productions, a nonprofit organization located in Yucca Valley, is set to present a mental health coloring book called “See, See, See, More! Listen With Your Eyes” at a celebration on June 20th at Birdcage Comics Cafe in San Bernardino. The coloring book, created by artists on the emotional behavioral spectrum, is sponsored by a California Arts Council/Creative Corps grant.
Bezerk Productions has been operating since 2001 and first started with the original version of Cracked Eggs, an interdisciplinary troupe of individuals on the emotional behavioral spectrum. In 2021, Bezerk launched Cracked Eggs again with the help of funds from the Mental Health Services Act. They offer workshops twice a week to clubhouses and TAY centers in San Bernardino County.
Last year, Bezerk Productions received a Creative Corps grant from the California Arts Council to support the creation of the mental health coloring book. The book was the result of a yearlong program held at Birdcage Comics Cafe in San Bernardino, the project’s community sponsor. The program involved training for teachers and workshops for students, resulting in 100 selected drawings for the coloring book.
