Since July 2021, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 has imposed fines totaling over 333 million euros on a number of online game operators for serious and very serious infractions. The General Directorate of Gambling Regulation (DGOJ) issued these resolutions, resulting in the disqualification of several operators and large fines.
The largest fine of 35 million euros was given to the National Organization of Spanish and European Disabled People (ONDEE), which was found to have committed very serious infractions related to online gambling. Other companies that received heavy fines include Rabadi, Uno Digital Media, and Eight Stars, each fined 5 million euros for operating without a license in Spain.
In addition to these very serious violations, DGOJ also identified serious violations in 7 other operators in the online betting and gaming sector. These operators held licenses but committed infractions under Law 13/2011 on the regulation of gambling, resulting in fines totaling 1,150,000 euros.
Overall, these sanctioning resolutions demonstrate the government’s commitment to enforcing regulations and maintaining a fair and safe online gaming environment. The findings will be published on the DGOJ website after notification to the involved parties.
