Nominations in France Closing Soon, Election Campaign Begins Tomorrow

With the legislative elections in France just days away, parties are scrambling to finalize their nominations. The deadline for candidates to register their names is 6pm today, after which the official campaign will begin tomorrow. In total, there are 577 constituencies involved in the race, with the photo finish set to start this evening.

The left-wing alliance has already formed, bringing together various parties and agreeing on a program and candidates in a short amount of time. However, there are concerns about whether this alliance can withstand the diversity of its components, especially after the dismissal of several critical deputies from Les Insoumis.

On the center front, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal is mobilizing under the leadership of his party, focusing on purchasing power and promising various measures in the event of a victory for the presidential camp.

The far-right candidates are also gearing up for the election, with uncertainties surrounding the number of Reconquete candidates and the formation of a common candidate in 70 constituencies. Despite these uncertainties, it’s clear that all parties are taking this election seriously and preparing for a hotly contested race.
