Winston Watkins Jr. may reconsider return to Buffs despite decommitting from Colorado

Winston Watkins Jr., a highly rated prospect from Venice, Florida, has recently included Colorado in his top 16 choices, despite decommitting in November. The Buffaloes secured a commitment from the class of 2025 wide receiver after Deion Sanders was named head coach.

Watkins is known for his explosiveness on offense and ability to work effectively from the slot position. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 172 pounds, he impresses with his advanced route running skills and elusiveness when avoiding defenders. With his speed, Watkins is able to outrun opponents when given open space on the field.

Several college football powerhouses are vying for Watkins’ commitment, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, and Penn State Nittany Lions. Despite the intense competition for his services, Colorado remaining in contention is a positive sign for the Buffaloes program.
