Velez, who graduated from FAU in December with a master’s degree in civil engineering and is now a style engineer for Structures International, participated in the project throughout the 2019-20 year. Due to COVID, the group was unable to travel – but Velez was in a position to oversee the bridge efforts from South Florida. Quickly forward to this year, when she ultimately produced the trip overseas to assistance create the bridge her group initially developed.
