Merger Deal between Six Flags and Cedar Fair Almost Finalized

Cedar Fair and Six Flags, two of the largest theme park companies in North America, are set to merge, creating a new combined entity that will be a major player in the industry. The merger is expected to be finalized on Monday, forming a company worth an estimated $8 billion. The new company will operate under the name Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

Selim Bassoul, President and CEO of Six Flags, expressed excitement about the merger, highlighting the opportunity to offer guests unique and thrilling experiences at their parks. Richard Zimmerman, President and CEO of Cedar Fair also emphasized the importance of the merger in enhancing financial flexibility to invest in new rides, attractions, and technologies to improve guest experience.

Under the new leadership structure, Zimmerman will serve as president and CEO of the merged company while Bassoul will become the executive chairman of the board of directors. The merger will bring together dozens of theme parks, water parks and resort properties across North America.

Six Flags currently operates in 11 states as well as in Montreal and Mexico City while Cedar Fair has locations in nine states and Toronto area. Additionally Cedar fair offers accommodation options such as RV sites and hotels. Guests can expect to see enhancements and improvements in their parks following this merger which will make each visit more exciting and memorable than before.

The merger is expected to create a stronger competitive position for both companies by leveraging their combined resources to offer guests unique experiences at their theme parks across North America.
