Dr. Janet Berreman, Kaua‘i District Health Officer, emphasized the importance of National Public Health Week and the programs and services offered by DOH to enhance community well-being. She expressed excitement for the event and the opportunity to thank the community and partners for their ongoing support in building a healthier and thriving Kaua‘i.

Collaborating to increase understanding and support for public health initiatives benefits the community as a whole.

National Public Health Week, observed during the first full week of April each year, is a time when communities nationwide come together to recognize the significance of public health and address critical health issues.

This year’s theme, Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health, highlights the importance of working collaboratively to improve the nation’s health.

At the open house event, attendees will have the chance to interact with various DOH staff members from vector control, administrative services, community health workers, public health nurses, epidemiologists, mental health professionals, food safety inspectors, disabilities case managers, and microbiologists.

This diverse group of professionals will showcase different roles and services that contribute to public health efforts in the community.
