Jeff Skinner to be honored for playing his 1000th game with the Sabres on Tuesday

The Buffalo Sabres are set to celebrate Jeff Skinner’s 1,000th NHL game on Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with the Capitals winning their last encounter in overtime with a 4-3 victory.

To mark this special occasion, the Sabres will hold a pregame ceremony at 6:55 p.m., featuring special giveaways for fans who arrive early. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative red beanie featuring Skinner’s signature. Throughout the night, fans can also expect more Skinner-themed giveaways.

The Sabres will wear their black-and-red alternate jerseys for the final time this season, which feature a commemorative jersey patch with the Jeff Skinner 1,000th game logo. The Sabres have an impressive record at home with a 18-19-1 record and are overall 35-35-5 with a scoring differential of -5.

On the other hand, the Capitals have struggled on the road with a 16-16-4 record and an overall record of 36-27-10 with a scoring differential of -30. However, Rasmus Dahlin has been a standout performer for the Sabres with 17 goals and 36 assists, while Tage Thompson has been on fire recently with seven goals and six assists in his last ten games.

The Capitals have Tom Wilson leading their offense with 17 goals and added 15 assists and Alexander Ovechkin has eight goals and two assists in his last ten games as well. In their last ten games, the Sabres have recorded five wins out of ten matches while Washington has six wins out of nine matches played.
