Mentally ill patient attacks three staff members at mental health facility in Buffalo

At around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, a stabbing occurred inside the Strozzi Building at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center campus in north Buffalo. According to officials from the New York State’s Office of Mental Health, three staff members were injured by a patient during the incident.

The Office of Mental Health is actively assisting the Buffalo Police Department in their investigation into the matter. Their top priority is the safety of both their staff and the individuals they serve. Thoughts are with the injured employees and their families during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, local news outlet WIVB-TV reported that the stabbing took place shortly after 9 a.m., and that two men and a woman were transported to the hospital by ambulance. One of the staff members is believed to be seriously injured, while the suspect was taken into police custody. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
