Stefon Diggs traded from Bills to Texans

The Houston Texans are set to acquire wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills, ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced. In exchange for Diggs, Buffalo will receive a 2025 second-round pick from Minnesota, while Houston will also get a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. This trade comes at a cost of $31 million in dead cap charge for the Bills in 2024 as Diggs is under contract with the team until 2027.

Selected in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, Diggs spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bills in 2020. In his first season with Buffalo, he led the league in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535). Despite a slight decline in production in 2023, Diggs still managed to record over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth consecutive year. He has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards for the past six seasons.

With this acquisition, Houston adds another strong offensive weapon to its roster that will help young quarterback C.J. Stroud succeed. Throughout his career, Diggs has amassed an impressive record of 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns in just 136 games.
