Sean Payton believes that the Broncos have a real chance to trade up, while the Cardinals are in a favorable position.

The possibility of trading up to the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft is being discussed openly by Sean Payton of the Broncos. Payton mentioned this to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, stating that the team is considering moving up from their current position at No. 12.

Moving up to the fourth overall pick would require significant draft capital for the Broncos, according to Payton. He speculated that it could be similar to what the 49ers surrendered to move up to the third overall pick in 2021, which involved giving up their current first-round pick and future picks in 2025 and 2026.

Payton seems determined to secure a franchise quarterback despite the risks involved in trading up. With four potential franchise quarterbacks in the draft, he is concerned that all of them may be gone by the time they select at No. 12. This urgency could be driving their decision to pursue a trade.

Jarrett Stidham currently holds the starting quarterback position for the Broncos, with a possibility of adding a veteran QB before the draft as well. As we approach April and with only a month until draft day, Payton remains hopeful that he will acquire a quarterback who can lead them for years to come.
