On 14th February, we will launch a new series titled “Taboos and Tricky Topics” aimed at sparking challenging discussions about science culture. We invite representatives from the chemistry community to join us in this initiative and encourage everyone to participate in the conversation.
This series is a follow-up to our 2019 Vision for a Great Science Culture, where we outlined the values, behaviors, and expectations of a positive science community. Creating a positive science culture will benefit everyone, but it will require collective effort and may present challenges.
The goal of this series is to address some of the tensions within science culture, such as the delicate balance between pursuing a successful research career and dedicating time to improving aspects of science culture. We want to provide a platform for individuals at different career stages and from various backgrounds to share their perspectives. Additionally, we welcome your input through our questions and comments board, which allows you to submit anonymously.
To be part of the conversation, visit our YouTube channel or LinkedIn page at 4pm UK time on 14th February. You can also submit your questions and comments at any time leading up to the event.
