20,000 fans gathered at Maksimir to witness the Croatian national football team’s final match against Armenia in the qualifiers for Euro 2024. Amidst the excitement, one fan stood out – Rafael Beserra, a Brazilian who is a huge fan of “fire.”
Bessera was introduced to the public at the end of the League of Nations in Rotterdam, where he fulfilled his lifelong dream and met his idol Luka Modrić (38). Not long after, he received an invitation from the Croatian Tourist Board and moved to Zagreb to study Croatian and live his dream.
When asked about his experience at Maksimir, Bessera said: “Zagreb is a wonderful city, I’m watching the national team in Croatia for the first time, I’m very happy. I’ve never been to Maksimir.” He also shared that he often posts on social networks about learning the Croatian language and gave us his prediction for the match. “I think it will be 3-0,” he said. “And who will be the scorers? Modrić, Ivanušec and Majer!”
What sets Besserra apart from other fans is his dedication to our national team. He already bought tickets for Euro in Germany! In fact, he told us: “I will definitely go, I bought the tickets.” It’s clear that this Brazilian is passionate about football and is thrilled to be a part of Croatia’s qualifying campaign for Euro 2024.
