Retirement Celebration for Faculty and Staff of the College of Health Sciences on April 9th

Boise State University’s College of Health Sciences is saying goodbye to five esteemed faculty and staff members who are retiring in the spring of 2024. These individuals have collectively dedicated many years of service to the university.

To celebrate their contributions, a retirement reception will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Student Union’s Bishop Barnwell Room. The campus community is invited to join in honoring these individuals for their hard work and dedication to Boise State University.

Olgie Castillo, a management assistant in the Department of Kinesiology for 16 years, has been an integral part of the college’s success. Shawn Dunnagan, a lecturer III in the School of Public and Population Health, has dedicated himself to providing exceptional education to his students. Tim Kempf, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, has spent 19 years at Boise State and has contributed significantly to research in his field. Shelle Poole, the divisional dean and clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, has served for 13 years and has made significant contributions to nursing education at Boise State University. Sarah Toevs, a professor in the School of Public and Population Health and director of the Center for the Study of Aging, has contributed 24 years of service to Boise State University with her expertise in gerontology research.

These retirees have left an indelible mark on the College of Health Sciences and on Boise State as a whole. Join us as we celebrate their remarkable careers and wish them well on their next journey!
