Anthony Perry earned the win on the mound for West Branch, pitching a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also helped his cause with a two-run single in the sixth inning. The Warriors are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC.

West Branch scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup walking and eventually scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Both Biskup and Boston Mulinix had two stolen bases during the game.

Minerva’s Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 at the plate but took the loss on the mound, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits in three-plus innings. After their victory over Minerva, West Branch will face Marlington next Tuesday as they continue their season in search of more wins.
