The Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) is a community-driven initiative aimed at supporting the growth and prosperity of local businesses in Carbon and Emery counties. Led by Shanny Wilson, the Carbon County Economic Development & Tourism Director, BEAR seeks to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among local businesses, community members, leaders, and economic development stakeholders.
The group hosts monthly General Meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at Utah State University Eastern in Price. These meetings provide an excellent platform for networking, sharing ideas, and learning from one another. The next meeting on April 25 will feature Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom, discussing collaborative efforts in economic development.
By attending these meetings, business owners can stay updated on developments and opportunities in their respective fields while also gaining valuable insights into the broader economic landscape of the region. In addition to providing networking opportunities, BEAR also offers resources and support to help businesses grow and thrive in Carbon and Emery counties.
If you’re interested in getting involved with BEAR or learning more about how you can support local businesses in your community, contact Nick Tatton, Price City Community Director at [communitydirector@priceutah.net](mailto:communitydirector@priceutah.net).
