In November 2023, public schools in Hawai’i were awarded ten grants totaling more than $9,300 from the Bayer Fund-Hawai‘i Science Education Grant. The recipients of these grants included Ewa Makai Middle School, H.P. Baldwin High School, ʻĪao School, ʻIlima Intermediate School, ʻIlima Intermediate School, Kaimukī Middle School, Kīhei Charter School, Lahaina Intermediate School, Lahainaluna High School, and McKinley High School.
These funds are designed to support various STEM-related activities in the public schools. Some of the projects include a macro propagation project, drone building program, hydroponics project, community garden and the purchase of equipment and supplies for earth science, marine biology
