In Techentin, a fire broke out in an apartment building, leaving all 13 residents homeless. The blaze started late on Wednesday evening at a house on “Am Umspannwerk” street. Firefighters from surrounding volunteer fire departments, totaling 75 comrades with 15 vehicles, were on the scene to combat the major fire. It is suspected that the cause of the fire was arson, and the police are investigating.
Fortunately, all 13 tenants were able to escape unharmed thanks to the efforts of rescue workers. However, this incident adds to a series of fires in Techentin and nearby Ludwigslust in recent years. Just a few days earlier, there was another fire at the training ground of the Techentin Fire Department. The authorities suspect arson in these cases due to lack of other explanations and ruled out technical defects.
The community of Techentin is now faced with the challenge of rebuilding and supporting the displaced residents in finding new homes. The police are continuing their investigations into these incidents.
