Chris Tsirlis, a seasoned U.S. Marine Corps veteran with over three decades of experience in information technology leadership, has recently been appointed as the vice president of business development and product innovation at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense’s government solutions business. In his new role, Tsirlis will be leading a team of professionals to drive the development of satellite communications technologies to support customers’ mission-critical workloads.
Prior to joining Airbus DS Government Solutions, Tsirlis served as a technical product manager at Microsoft, where he also worked as a solutions architect focused on edge platforms for space/5G and hybrid cloud networks. His expertise in this field will be instrumental in driving innovation and growth within Airbus’s government solutions business.
Tsirlis’ extensive background and expertise in the field make him a valuable addition to the Airbus team. He has held senior IT leadership positions within the Marine Corps, including serving as the director of IT and commanding officer of Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, as well as the IT operations officer for III Marine Expeditionary Unit G-6.
In his new role at Airbus, Tsirlis will be working closely with customers to understand their needs and develop innovative solutions that meet those needs while also driving business growth for Airbus. With his experience in both public and private sectors, he brings a unique perspective that will help Airbus stay ahead of its competitors in the rapidly evolving space industry.
