World Central Kitchen calls for independent investigation into Israel’s bombing that resulted in fatalities

In just six months, the Israel-Hamas conflict has claimed the lives of over 200 aid workers, a number that is unprecedented in any other conflict in a single year. According to U.N. Humanitarian Coordinator Jamie McGoldrick, this tragic event has brought attention to the urgent need for peace and resolution in the region.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged that innocent people were unintentionally killed in Gaza by Israeli forces. He stated that such incidents are unfortunately common in times of war and Israel has announced it will conduct an internal investigation regarding the killings.

World Central Kitchen (WCK), a food charity, revealed that multiple strikes targeting their vehicles resulted in a military attack that claimed aid worker lives. The organization has asked the Israeli government to preserve all evidence related to the attack. José Andrés, WCK’s founder and a celebrity chef, urged the U.S. to pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu to end the war immediately and criticized the White House for providing aid to Gaza while also arming Israel.

The deaths of aid workers have sparked international condemnation, with even Israel’s staunchest allies calling for a prompt investigation into the killings. The growing concern is raising awareness about the urgent need for peace and resolution in the region.
